UPTET Exam Syllabus

The UP TET Syllabus consists of 300 MCQs divided among two papers with several sections each. It is conducted in English and Hindi, except for the language sections.

Paper–I

In the first paper, you would be attempting; there write three core sections and two languages. The paper consists of topics like Child Development, Pedagogy, Maths, and EVS. This is meant for teachers who would want to teach for grades one to five. Math and EVS sections assess the candidate’s ability to understand facts and core concepts, while the language sections test their ability to grasp languages and to deliver instructions in them.

Paper-II

Paper-II also consists of 150 questions, distributed across four sections. Two sections are core subjects, including Child Development and Pedagogy, Science and Maths, and Social Sciences. The other two are languages, including English or English, Sanskrit or Urdu, and Hindi. All the sections consist of 30 questions, each carrying one mark, except for Science and Mathematics, or Social Science, which consists of 60 questions. This paper evaluates the candidate’s educational psychology profile for classes between six and eight.

Also, in the last section of this paper, Science and Mathematics or Social Science, you can choose to answer either subject. Here, too, there is no negative marking.

Those candidates looking to teach for grades between six and eight must write both papers.
