Recent years have seen an increase in the popularity of Kratom extract because of its reported energizing and pain-relieving effects. While it’s true that kratom extracts are safe to use, there are many myths and misconceptions about their safety.
Kratom extract is extremely addictive and dangerous
One of the biggest misconceptions about kratom extracts like UEI or FST is that it extremely addictive or dangerous, even more so than regular kratom powder. However, recent research does not necessarily support these fears.
The results of a 2021 survey evaluated more than 1200 active users of best kratom extract. It found no reports among regular kratom extract users of dangerous side effects or health issues caused directly by extracts alone. Many users reported extracts eased their pain and discomfort without becoming dependent. However, there were some reports that extracts may increase tolerance quicker than regular powder when used daily long-term. So while regular extract use leads to building tolerance faster, there is no evidence to show that responsible extract use is extremely dangerous or addictive on its own merits. However, certain risks may apply to those with past substance abuse issues or at-risk populations. Overall, extracts appear relatively safe when used carefully, but they need extra care and caution.
Kratom extract has no place in a wellness regimen
Many people feel tinctures and powders that contain concentrated extracts are not suitable for health and wellness regimens due to their “extreme danger” stigma. This is not the full picture of the situation.
When used responsibly alongside precautions, many have found kratom extracts to be anecdotally beneficial in their self-care routine. Some regularly use extracts such as resin to manage discomfort, relax muscles, relieve minor aches, or provide a soothing effect without sedation. Extracts also provide convenience, portability, and consistency in measured doses. No supplement is right for everyone, but the vilification of extracts beyond regular leaves is also not an evidence-based or balanced perspective. While risks may increase at super-high doses, extracts taken at reasonable levels by informed adults may offer unique benefits with reasonable safety. Overall, they play a responsible role in self-care regimens for motivated, careful users despite stigma.
You must take extracts to get benefits from kratom
A common myth is that concentrated kratom extracts in any form are “necessary” to get noticeable benefits from this botanical. This is simply untrue, as plain powder kratom certainly provides effects.
Let’s look at the science. Kratom’s active compounds are the alkaloids mitragynine and 7-hydroxy mitragynine. Levels found in average plain leaf range from 1-2% mitragynine and .01-.04% 7-OH. This is enough for many to feel kratom’s signature effects either energizing or soothing, depending on strain and dose. While extracts isolate and concentrate these alkaloids for more intense effects, plain leaf still provides benefits that many seek in areas like vitality, comfort, relaxation, and pain relief. So while extracts offer a different experience, one certainly does not “need” them to feel kratom’s effects strongly assuming quality plain leaf and proper dosing. The myth that extracts are mandatory is false.
